vSphere auf DC installieren

vSphere verweigert die Installation auf einem DC. Ist jetzt nicht weiter schlimm, mich würde nur der technische Grund dafür interessieren. Kann jemand hier erklären, warum dies so ist?

Was meinst Du genau ? Den Client oder das Vcenter ?

 

Ansonsten: WMWare hält isch nur an die Regel, dass direkt auf einem DC nichts weiter laufen soll. Und man arbeitet auch nicht auf dedr Console eines Servers (DC).

Weil die Ports 389 und 638 sowohl von Active Directory als auch vSphere verwendet werden und somit ein Konflikt entstehen würde.

 

Zu Port 389: "This port must be open on the local and all remote instances of vCenter Server. This is the LDAP port number for the Directory Services for the vCenter Server group. The vCenter Server system needs to bind to port 389, even if you are not joining this vCenter Server instance to a Linked Mode group. If another service is running on this port, it might be preferable to remove it or change its port to different port. If needed, you can run the LDAP service on any port from 1025 through 65535. If this instance is serving as the Microsoft Windows Active Directory, change the port number from 389 to an available port from 1025 through 65535."

 

Zu Port 638: "For vCenter Linked Mode, this is the SSL port of the local instance. If another service is running on this port, it might be preferable to remove it or change its port to different port. If needed, you can run the SSL service on any port from 1025 through 65535."

Weil die Ports 389 und 638 sowohl von Active Directory als auch vSphere verwendet werden und somit ein Konflikt entstehen würde.

Das ist doch schon mal eine Erklärung :) Witzig aber das man es individuell umstellen kann:

 

.... If this instance is serving as the Microsoft Windows Active Directory, change the port number from 389 to an available port from 1025 through 65535."....

 

..... If needed, you can run the SSL service on any port from 1025 through 65535."

Die Ports anzupassen ist kein Problem! Man sollte aber davon abraten den vCenter Server auf einem DC zu installieren. Warum nimmst du dafür keine eigene Maschine?
