Alternativer Local Update Publisher

Der LUP funktioniert ja bekanntlich nicht auf Windows Server 2012, dafür gibt es den WSUS Package Publisher. Es ist zwar noch kein vollständiger Ersatz, aber bewegt sich in die richtige Richtung:

Es wird fleißig am WSUS Package Publisher gearbeitet, es gibt ein neues Release: http://wsuspackagepublisher.codeplex.com/releases/view/106129 Ebenfalls hat der Autor ein Tool zum löschen von leeren Produkten und Herstellern dazu erstellt. Es sind neue Features hinzugekommen:

 

Add a new feature to show if computer is online or not in the "Computer Detail Viewer".

Add a new feature to allow user to Save/Load Rules when creating an update.

Add ability for user to send debug info when WPP crash.

Add a new feature to allow to make some actions Before and/or After update itself (like killing process, running script, stopping service...). See Custom Updates in the documentation Page.

Date/Time are displayed as Local Time. (Last Contact, Last Report and DeadLine)

Wpp now remember the last used path for update publishing. (See 'Settings' Form for options)

Add an option to allow users to publish an update even if the Framework has judged the certificate as invalid. (Attention : Using this option will NOT allow you to publish or revise an update if your certificate is really invalid).

When publishing a new update, filter update files to ensure that there is not files with the same name (ie: the main update file is add in the 'Additionnal files' list).

WPP doesn't crash when an update publication or revision failed. The user is warned of the failure and the software go on.

Check if the file 'ShowPendingUpdates' is present in the folder before trying to launch it.

Bei diesem Release hatte ich das Problem (und musste bei mir ein Downgrade machen), dass bei einem neuen Update im ersten Dialog bei der Auswahl der Datei diese nicht übernommen wurde und bei manuellen Eingeben des Pfades das "Weiter" ausgegraut war.

Du darst dich gerne dort anmelden und das melden. ;) Ansonsten kann ich dir versichern, der Entwickler arbeitet sehr kontinuierlich an seinem Tool. Er ist auch sehr offen für Änderungswünsche.

Da sowieso jeder ne LiveID/MIcrosoft Account haben dürfte, muß man sich nicht mal was neues ausdenken. ;)

Bei mir funktioniert das mit dem "last path used" übrigens.
