Compaq ProLiant 3000 Frage

Hallo zusammen

 

Ich weiß nicht ob die Frage hier rein paßt, habe nur auch nicht wirklich einen anderen Bereich gefunden.

 

Wir haben einen Compaq ProLiant 3000 hier stehen wo ein SBS2k3 drauf ist. Nun wartet der Server beim Booten immer auf einen F1 promt bis er nach dem Bios weiter bootet.

laut HP müßten die System Config Tools auf einer seperaten Partition installiert sein. Sind sie aber nicht. Nun bringt die SmartStart CD einen I/O Error beim Versuch zu starten. CD & laufwerk sind aber in ordnung. dann gibt es noch ein FloppyDisk set nämlich das hier:

Aber wenn ich mit den Disks Boote gibt es keine Option wie bei HP beschrieben.

 

nun meine Frage. hat noch wer ggf einen ähnlichen Server? kann man diese partition "nachinstallieren"? Mit Storage Foundation partition erstellen oder so?

Hat wer Erfahrungen damit oder kann mir einen Tip geben?

 

Das dumme ist halt wenn man den Server rebooten muss oder sollte er warum auch immer mal neu booten dann muss einer zur maschine selbst und F1 drücken.

Hmm, wenn ich mich recht entsinne schmeisst die SmartStart CD beim Nachinstallieren der Maintenance Partition immer ALLE Partitionen raus. Damit wäre Dein schöner Server hin.

 

Dieser F1 Dialog sollte jedoch nichts mit der Maintenance Partition zu tun haben, sondern vom ILO Adapter oder BIOS geworfen werden. Bitte check mal die genaue Meldung die dort angezeigt wird.

Also HP sagte in den mails das man die Configuration tools verwenden muß um den F1 promt zu deaktivieren:

To disable the F1 prompt during start up, please follow the steps given below:

Restart computer

Press F10

Press any key

Then you get (system configuration)

Press Ctrl+A (For advanced mode) OK

Choose system configuration

Choose configure hardware (Loading configuration files)

Choose Review or modify hardware settings

Choose step 3 View or edit details

Goto advanced features -

Pick F1 Boot prompt - Press enter

Choose Disabled - skip prompt

Go out and save the configuration

Restart and make a test to see that it works

 

NOTE: When you perform the installation of Operating System using the SmartStart CD. A non-dos partition of capacity of 39 MB (EISA) is created on the hard drive. This partition is also called as Compaq System Partition, which can be accessed on ProLiant G1 servers by pressing F10 key during the POST.

 

If a system partition was created on the hard drives during the initial setup of the server, press F10 key on boot up, when the cursor appears in the upper right corner of the screen. If no system partition was created (you'll get an error message when you hit 'F10'), you will then need to boot to the System Configuration Utility (SCU) from SmartStart CD or System Configuration Utility diskettes.

 

When you boot the system form a SmartStart CD you will get a SCU on the screen click on the SCU.

If you have not install the SUC on your system then you can use the System Configuration Utility to configure the BIOS.

Und genau das mit den Diskset geht nicht.

Ich dachte mit das mit dem nachinstallieren halt so das ich ein Image des systems fahre. Dann mit der Smartstart CD ein SBS erstmal installiere aber nicht konfiguriere. Auf der Partition wo der SBS installiert ist schmeiß ich das Image drüber. Sollte doch logisch passen oder? Es sein denn die SmartStart installiert noch irgendwas anderes mit bei Windows.

Nun, das könnte so funktionieren.

 

Es sollte afaik auch eine Option existieren, nur die Maintenance Partition anzulegen (die wird ja sowieso anschliessend versteckt), hierbei kann man auch weitere Partitionen anlegen (zumindest war das bei den neueren SmartStarts so). Das OS muss man bei dieser Option nicht installieren und da Du ja ein Image hast kannst Du dieses nach dem Partitionieren in die erstellte Leerpartition werfen.
