Protection Against Memory

Hallo,

 

habe mal eine spezielle Frage zu HP. In den Proliant Servern von HP gibt es im BIOS die Option "Protection Against Memnory" die Standardmäßig bei den G4 und G5 deaktiviert ist und bei den G6 aktiviert ist. Ist Sie aktiviert gibt es mit Anti-Viren Software Probleme. Jetzt meine Frage gibt es diese Option auch bei HP Workstations/Notebooks? Kann es leider hier in der Firma nicht testen da kein HP vor Ort.

Bist Du sicher, dass die Option so heisst ? Nomalrweise nennt dich das "NX Memory Protection", o.ä. Das ist eine Prozessor-Funktion um Buffer Overflows zu vermeiden.

 

Wenn ein Virenscanner das nicht mag, solltest Du das Problem beim Virenscanner suchen.

''No-Execute Memory Protection enables the hardware portion of a feature that protects systems against malicious code and viruses. When used in combination with an OS that supports this feature, certain memory is marked as not for executable code. Viruses that attempt to insert and execute code from nonexecutable memory locations are intercepted and an exception is raised.”

 

The HP Prolaint G6 intel servers this option is enabled by default. While in G4 and G5 HP Proliant servers it is disabled by default.

If the marked memory by this option is used to execute , there will an exception. It’s like a antivirus in hardware.

Wie gesagt: Wenn Dein Virenscanne das nicht mag, hat er einen Bug, der behoben werden sollte.

Soweit ist mir das alles klar. Wollte nur wissen ob es diese Option auch im BIOS von HP Workstation Rechner gibt.

Hängt vom Prozessor und vom Biuos ab. Bei aktuellen Geräten i.d.R. ja .
