so, seit einiger Zeit habe ich das alles zum Laufen gebracht mit thinstation. Leider benötige ich derzeit aber noch eine Bootdiskette. Das ist für mich natürlich nicht wirklich befriedigend. darum habe ich mir überlegt, dass ich über PXE einen kleinen Loader hole, der dann das große Image vom TFTP-Server läd. Weiß einer von euch, welche options ich bei meinem DHCP-Server (Windows) Setzen muss, damit das funktioniert? und ob ich was bestimmtest dabei beachten muss?!

They can be configured to support further printers on serial or usb ports as well by changing a section of the thinstation.conf.network file as described previously. The procedure below describes the steps to share the printer on the parallel port on the thin client to the server and to allow any network connected fat or thin client to print is as follows: * Obtain the Mac address of the machine that the printer is connected to. One way to do this is by pressing pause as the network card is searching for a DHCP server. * Create an IP address reservation on the DHCP server to ensure the machine always has this static IP address * On the Domain controller or print server navigate to Start>Printers and faxes>Add a printer * Select Local printer and ensure the tick box is cleared where it asks if you would like windows to automatically detect and install, then click next * Select the option that allows you to create a new port for a printer and change the drop down box to display Standard TCP/IP port and click next, and next after the wizard opens * Now type in the IP address of the thin client machine where the printer is connected. (i.e. IP address you reserved earlier), then click next * Now you can select a printer port, click on the drop down box and select Hewlett Packard Jet Direct and click next. * Now you can click Finish as we want to accept the defaults * You will now need to install the printer drivers for the particular model of printer that is being used. Either select from the default built in windows drivers or download the newest ones from the printer manufacturer's website. Click next. * Set a printer name and click next * Set the share name and click next * Set the Location and click next * Select yes when prompted to print a test page. The test page should print correctly. * Click Finish and the printer should be installed correctly To install the printer on any of the thin clients within the network you can simply browse through the Network Neighborhood to the server the printer was install on and double click the relevant shared printer. Note: I have found that due to security restrictions imposed on the terminal server client sessions the printer driver cannot always be installed on each thin client. If this occurs, you can log in as a user with administrator privileges on the terminal server and set up the printer. This appears to place the printer driver files into the right location on the server, so that when the client installs the printer the driver files are already present.

ich verstehe das nicht.. also sag mir, wenn ich falsch liege, aber in der Dokumentation steht doch drinne (wenn man das Dokumentation nenne darf ;-) ) dass man das lpr package integrieren muss und die printer in der buildtime angeben muss... wenn ich mich auf die Linuxconsole anmelde, dann gibt es auch kein /dev/printers :o aber es gibt schonmal /dev/usb bisher habe ich es noch nicht mit USB-Druckern versucht.. aber ich denke das sollte ich nochmal probieren

Moin Zusammen, ich habe gerade das gleiche Problem, dass ich nicht weiß, wie ich einen lokalen LPT/USB Drucker in meine CITRIX-Umgebung einbinde.. Ich habe zwar bei der config das lpr-package eingebunden und bei der bulidtime die Drucker angegeben, aber es will dennoch nicht so wirklich funktionieren.. hat wer von euch da schon erfahrungen gesammelt?

ya, das haben wir auch schon überlegt, aber das ist ein wenig sehr teuer..

Hallo zusammen, ich habe von meinem Chef ein Projekt übertragen bekommen, mit dem ich bisher nur bedingt voran kam. Daher hoffe ich Ihr könnt mir weiterhelfen. Wir haben hier einige alte Fatclients (Fujitsu-Siemens Scenic D) die wir ganz gerne als Thinclients verwenden möchten. Diese sollen sich via netzwerk mit dem Citrix - W2k3 Server verbinden, dass man sich anmelden und daran arbeiten kann. aus den Fat-Clients sollen alle drehenden Speichermedien ausgebaut werden. Also habe ich mir gedacht, dass man wohl irgendwie sich mittels PXE das Image holen muss und mit dem Image sich dann zum Metaframe verbindet. Leider habe ich nichts brauchbares gefunden. Hat jemand von euch Erfahrung damit oder wüsste, wie man das alles angeht/wie das funktioniert?? Vielen Dank Patri
