Ich dachte Microsoft wollte bei WINDOWS 7 die Variationen nicht so breit fächern wie bei VISTA.

so stand es in der offiziellen Meldung, aber ich halte das für einen Irrtum. Ich denke, dass Starter weiterhin nur in Schwellen- und Entwicklungsländern erhältlich ist. Vielleicht wird Home Basic auch nur eingeschränkt verkauft.

Steht doch da (wenn auch etwas indirekt): Weiterhin in der Home Premium (und natürlich in der Ultimate). Dass es in Professional drin ist, darauf würde ich derzeit nicht bauen, denn leider widerspricht sich die Meldung dort.

Die Informationen zu dem Thema sind abgesehen vom Announcement noch recht spärlich.

Die Ankündigung ist noch brandaktuell und die Betaphase läuft auch noch ein Weilchen, ich denke näheres dazu wird erst demnächst bekannt.

Eine Info kann ich noch posten:

As customers move up from one SKU to the next, from Windows 7 Starter through Windows 7 Ultimate, they gain additional features and lose none.

Momentan heißt es, daß die Starter Edition zukünftig von OEMs angeboten werden soll für small notebook PCs. Mal sehen, was daraus wird.

Hallo zusammen,
ich plane mir das Windows 7 anzuschaffen in der Ultimate Variante. Eventuell "nur" die Enterprise Variante. Meine Frage ist nun nach Recherche auf Amazon und der Microsoft Seite: Wird bei den Varianten zwischen der 32bit und 64bit Variante unterschieden? Es gab im Juli eine Aussage von Microsoft das immer beide Varianten (2 separate DVD´s) mit ausgeliefert werden. Nun kann ich aber entweder eine 64bit Variante vorbestellen (so um die 150€) oder eine 32bit/64bit Variante die so um die 300€ liegt. Ich habe schon an den Microsoft Support geschrieben aber da noch keine Antwort erhalten.
Wäre schön wenn jemand was dazu weis! Vielen Dank vorab!

Tja die günstigere Variante ist die Systembuilder Variante und die andere eben die Vollversion.
