Die Upgradeprüfung 70-682 vom MCDST und/oder MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician (Vista) zum MCITP:Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 ist nun seit ein paar Tagen buchbar bei Prometric.
Habe im Born To Learn Blog gelesen , dass, obwohl diese Prüfung eine Upgradeprüfung ist, man mit dieser Prüfung "nur" den MCITP: EST7 bekommt und nicht zusätzlich noch MCTS : Windows 7 Configuring.
Weiss da jemand etwas genaueres ?

I've just found out an interesting fact which others may not have noticed...
Unlike the 70-621 (Vista upgrade) where you got two qualifications for passing (an MCTS and a MCITP), by passing 70-682, even though it covers the content of 70-680 and 70-685, you don't get the qualifications you would have got for passing the component exams separately.
In summary:-
If you have MCDST or MCITP:EST and pass 70-682 you only obtain MCITP:EDST7.
If you pass 70-680 and 70-685 then you obtain MCITP:EDST7 and MCTS: Windows 7 Configuring.
So for a current MCDST or MCITP:EST holder, there is a benefit for taking the two component exams separately.
Comments? Was the exam path designed this way on purpose?

hab heute die 70-682 gemacht. Es waren jeweils 2 Fragenpools mit 25 Fragen.
Hauptsächlich ging es natürlich um die Neuerungen in W7 und Server2008 R2.
Ich habe zwar im August 2009 schon die 70-680 gemacht aber weil ich einen
50% Voucher für die 70-682 hatte. habe ich mich für den upgrade Weg entschieden. Mit Grundwissen und dem durcharbeiten der 2 MCTS Bücher ist
die Prüfung machbar.

von MS selber gibt es noch kein Buch. Da die Prüfung aus der 70-680 un der 70-685 besteht würde ich empfehlen diese Bücher zur Vorbereitung zu verwenden.
Also es sieht nun doch so aus dass in Exam 70-682 auch die 70-680 mit enthalten ist . Im Moment gibt es nur ein Problem im System , was aber wohl bis Anfang September behoben sein sollte.
Note: There is currently an issue that is preventing our system from awarding the MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration certification to customers who pass exam 70-682. We expect the issue to be resolved, and the certification awarded, early in September 2010.
